Know Your Interviewer

If you're interviewing for a role in SaaS that's client facing....
Have 3 talking points about the person you're interviewing with ready.
PLEASE.
You're probably laughing and saying, "who doesn't do this"....
90% of the interviewers I spoke with over the past 2 months said the majority of people they interview do not bring up any kind of research into the conversation.
SHOOK is an understatement.
It takes 5-10 minutes to scan a LinkedIn profile to find 3 things.
Here's a short list of areas on a LinkedIn profile you can hook into:
1. Tagline - this is somewhat of an identity definition
2. Hashtags - what do they say they're "talking" about
3. Featured section - what do they want people to see/interact with
4. Activity - what have they posted/commented on/(articles) published
5. About section - some people have a novel full of nuggets
6. Experience - what have they done + did they write anything under the job?
7. Education - Uni could be basic but people have other kinds of schools listed
8. Licenses & Certifications - I've seen everything from financial certs to scuba
Once you have these, don't force them into the conversation.
Find something you think you may have in common and bring it up

Just ask: "By the way, I saw this on your LinkedIn and had to ask...."
